The Lady Braves lacrosse team took on the Panthers of Dr. Phillips on Wednesday. This was the second district game for both teams. As the game began, Dr. Phillips would hold on to most of the possession; this theme would last the entire first half. The Braves and Dr. Phillips would trade goals throughout the half, with Dr. Phillips always maintain the lead or tie.
Come second half, the rhythm of the game would change for Boone, and for the better. Juliette Paymayesh scored a tying goal two minutes in, which was the first of 10 straight goals for the Braves. The Braves ultimately won decisively, 12-3.
Seniors Paymayesh and Lexi Pace each scored four goals; they each got two and one assist, respectively. Senior Lily Goeb added two of her own goals, adding two assists and scooping up a game-high eight ground balls. Senior Ansley Dalton and Sophomore Katie Radcliffe rounded out the scoring with a goal a piece. Senior Gabby Roberts earned the win by making seven saves; this was her seventh win of the season.
The Lady Braves improve to 7-2 (4-1 D) (2-0 D) and are currently the first seed in their district. When they return from spring break, the Braves will take on University and Edgewater.
