The Ivan Repass Memorial Award is given to a top male student-athlete who shows great leadership and character on and off the field. It is named after Mr. Repass who was an athletic director, physical education teacher, basketball coach and assistant principal here at Boone. He was one of the pioneers of the Metro Conference.

Jackson Tyndall – Lacrosse

  • 4-year varsity lacrosse athlete – Senior Captain
  • Career lacrosse totals – 48 goals, 25 assists and 78 ground balls and helped lead the boys lacrosse team to two Metro East Championships
  • 2020 1st Team All-Metro East selection as well as East Metro Conference Scholar-Athlete for lacrosse
  • 4.0 unweighted GPA/5.24 unweighted GPA – Valedictorian – 3rd in Boone Class of 2020
  • Member of the National Honor Society as well as the Spanish Honor Society, where he was the Co-President this past year
  • Member of Student Council and Fellowship of Christian Athletes for all four years at Boone

The Bill Lowry Memorial Award is given to our top female student-athlete who shows great leadership and character on and off the field. It is named after long time Boone athletic director Bill Lowry, who served in that capacity for 26 years.

Lilly Goeb – Lacrosse

  • 4-year varsity lacrosse starter – 2-year Captain
  • 3-time East All-Metro 1st Team selection – including the 2020 season where she gathered the most votes of all nominees at her position
  • Named the Orange County Public Schools Female Athlete of the Year for the Spring season, an award that is open to all 20 district schools and voted on by the athletic directors
  • 3.96 unweighted GPA/5.0 weighted GPA – ranked 30th overall in the class of 2020
  • Has taken 11 AP classes and is a member of the National Honor Society, Science Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta
  • 4-year member of the Health Academy and achieved certifications in EKG testing and CPR

The William R. Boone Award is given to our top male student-athlete. It is named after Mr. Boone, who was the first principal at our school.

Christian Roberts – Football and Track

  • 3-year varsity football athlete
  • 2020 East All-Metro 1st Team selection
  • Totaled 1,100 yards rushing and over 300 yards receiving Senior year while scoring 17 touchdowns/amassed over 3,00 total yards of offense in his career
  • 4-year varsity track athlete
  • 2019 100-meter state finalist and was on poised to be a contender for both Metro and District sprint titles his Senior year
  • Signed with Tusculum University to continue his football career

The John C. Pitts Award is given to our top female student-athlete. It is named after Mr. Pitts who is a former principal of Boone H.S. and a pioneer in bringing female athletics to Boone and the Metro Conference.

Carolyn Brown – Cross Country and Track

  • 4-year varsity track athlete
  • 2018 District title in 800 meter run/6th in Regionals/22nd in state championships
  • 2019 District and Regional titles in 800 meter run/4th in state championships
  • 2019 Metro and District titles in 400-meter run and holds the 2nd fastest times in Boone history in both the 800 and 400-meter events and was ready to contest for state championships in both in 2020
  • 4-year varsity cross-country athlete
  • 2018 3rd in District/5th in Regionals and 43rd in state championships
  • 2019 4th in Districts/5th in Regionals and 15th in state championships
  • 3.50 weighted GPA
  • Signed with North Carolina A&T to continue her cross country and track career

Madeline Morales – Basketball

  • 4-year varsity basketball starter and Senior Captain
  • 2-time East All-Metro 1st Team selection including her senior year
  • 2020 All-Central Florida 2nd Team selection
  • Led team to 2020 Regional Finals
  • Career averages of 16.3 points a game to go with 5.8 rebounds and 4 assists per game/Scored over 1,200 points in her Boone career
  • Junior Class President and was also the President of both the Senior Class and Key Club in 2020
  • Member of National Honor Society as well as Spanish Honor Society and represented Boone as a member of the Superintendent’s Advisory Council
  • 3.96 unweighted GPA/5.0 weighted GPA
  • Signed with Florida Southern College to continue her basketball career

  • 3-year varsity flag football athlete – led the team this year with 25 flag pulls and returned an interception for a touchdown
  • East Metro Conference Academic Scholar-Athlete for flag football
  • 4.0 unweighted GPA/5.20 weighted GPA – Valedictorian
  • National Honor Society/Spanish Honor Society/Mu Alpha Theta and Rho Kappa . Editor of the Yearbook, and participated in the Principal’s Advisory Board, Neuroscience Club and Ocean Activist Club

Sean McCabe – Basketball

  • 2-year varsity basketball player and Co-captain his senior year and 6th man on the 2019-20 squad
  • East Metro Conference Academic Scholar-Athlete for basketball
  • 4.0 unweighted GPA/5.49 weighted GPA – Valedictorian – 1st in Boone Class of 2020 and 2nd overall in all of Orange County Public Schools
  • National Merit Semi-finalist/2-time National AP Scholar and has passed more AP classes than any other student in OCPS
  • Sunshine State Scholar/Competitive Programming Team Co-Captain/Best Buddies Vice-President and a Bank of America student leader
  • President of Mu Alpha Theta and member of National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society and Rho Kappa
