Boys Junior Varsity Baseball · JV Baseball Clinches Lead in Fifth Inning To Defeat Winter Park


Boone Braves JV took the lead late in the game in a 10-6 victory over Winter Park on Wednesday. The game was tied at four with Boone Braves JV batting in the bottom of the fifth when Zane Gutch singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

Dalvin Medina led the Braves to victory by driving in four runs. He went 3-for-3 at the plate. Medina drove in runs on a single in the second, a single in the fourth, and a triple in the fifth.

Boone Braves JV got on the board in the second inning when Medina singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

After Winter Park scored one run in the top of the sixth, Boone answered with one of their own. Winter Park scored when Hunt doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Ellingworth was on the pitcher’s mound for Boone. He lasted five innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out seven.

Boone  totaled 12 hits. Medina, John Blem, Bryan Quiles, and Gutch all had multiple hits for Boone.  Blem and Medina each collected three hits to lead Boone Braves JV.

The JV team will enjoy their spring break and return to the field Monday March 23rd at Winter Park.  First Pitch will be at 4 p.m. with the varsity team playing right afterwards at 7 p.m.
