Girls Varsity Cross Country · The Girls’ Cross Country Team placed 22 of 32 at States

The girls race saw 4 girls in the 17’s and 13 girls in the 18’s including our own Carolyn Brown who ran a personal record of 18:52 to place 15th overall after coming in ranked 32nd. Her previous best time was 19:29 from regionals. The rest of our team braved the colder weather (48 degrees at the start) to place as follows:

88th  Hannah Foley  20:10  (Freshman)

107th  Megan Dolan 20:29  (Freshman)

170th  Isabella Santeufemio 21:38  (Junior)

207th  Jessica Cannella 23:00  (Junior)

211th  Esa Petersen  23:15  (Senior)

218th  Samantha Matey 23:45  (Freshman)

The girls’ team placed 22 of 32 teams on the line. Pretty impressive considering there are about 134 4A schools in the state. Of the local teams who competed today Timber Creek placed 10th, Winter Park 14th, Dr. Phillips 19th, and Windermere was just 7 points ahead of us in 21st. Our team average was 20:50 and our #1-5 split was 4:08. Pretty good day overall and so much fun being back at the state meet. We’re a very young team and can only continue to improve.
