Boys Varsity Cross Country, Girls Varsity Cross Country · Jack Krantz 1st at Trinity Prep XC Invitational

Boone cross country opened its season with 3rd place finishes on both the varsity girls and varsity boys events and a 1st place finish by our JV boys! Outstanding day for our team.

Varsity girls were led by freshman Megan Dolan placing first overall in her first 5K ever running 21:14. Freshman Hannah Foley medaled today by finishing 7th overall in 22:20 followed by Isabella Santeufemio in 13th running 23:04. Rounding out the top 6 was Esa Petersen in 33rd, Jessica Canella 37th, and Lily Renda 48th.

Varsity boys were led by junior Jack Krantz who must have kicked 1200 meters to crush the competitors from Timber Creek, Trinity Prep, and Lake Highland. He placed 1st overall in 17:39. Running #2 today was sophomore Brayan Correa in 25th place (19:26), Jayson Jensen 27th (19:35) and Bobby Schneeberger 31st (19:47).

The JV boys ran away with the 1st place trophy against 8 other teams including Lake Highland Prep, Lyman, and Timber Creek. Freshman Gian Thundiyil placed 3rd overall and just 10 seconds behind the 1st place finisher. In his first XC race Logan Willey finished 4th overall followed by freshman Sebastian Shea in 6th place, and Evans Bowyer 10th. Rounding out the top 5 scorers for the team was freshmen Will Petersen placing 26th overall. Congrats to our medal winners!

Due to a couple of injuries and illnesses, we only ran three girls in the JV race and it takes five to make a team. Taking the lead from the gun freshman Samantha Matey unfortunately tripped and fell later in the race to lose her lead but battled through to finish the race. Junior Devon Crotty was a medal winner placing 8th overall in 27:12.

Thank you to the Krantz family once again hauling the tent for us this season, the Pullums for coordinating our drinks/snacks, and all the parents who came out to support our team yesterday.
